About this website
Aircrack-ng is a complete suite of tools for assessing Wi-Fi network security, enabling wireless network auditing, monitoring, attacking, testing, and cracking of WEP, WPA, and WPA2 encryption. Originally developed by Thomas d'Otreppe since 2005, with over 5,700 stars as of 2026, Aircrack-ng is the most widely used wireless security testing toolkit. Key components include: airmon-ng (enable monitor mode on wireless interfaces and kill interfering processes), airodump-ng (packet capture for Wi-Fi networks, displaying access points, connected clients, encryption types, signal strength, ESSID, BSSID, channel, and vendor identification), aireplay-ng (packet injection for deauthentication attacks, fake authentication, ARP request replay, and interactive packet replay to generate traffic), aircrack-ng (WEP and WPA/WPA2-PSK key recovery using PTW and statistical analysis for WEP and dictionary attacks with PMKID for WPA), airbase-ng (create fake access points for rogue AP and evil twin attacks), airdecap-ng (decrypt WEP and WPA encrypted capture files), airdecloak-ng (remove WEP cloaking from captured packets), airolib-ng (precompute and store WPA PMK tables for accelerated cracking), airtun-ng (create virtual tunnel interfaces over wireless networks), packetforge-ng (create encrypted packets for injection), and platform support (Linux with monitor mode and injection capable adapters, macOS, Windows with compatible hardware).
