About this website

The American Clean Power Association, abbreviated ACP, is the leading trade organization for the renewable energy industry in the United States, formed in 2021 through the merger of the American Wind Energy Association with several other clean energy groups, headquartered in Washington. The association represents over seven hundred member companies across the clean power sector including wind turbine manufacturers and project developers, utility-scale solar energy companies, battery energy storage system providers, green hydrogen technology developers, and transmission infrastructure companies. Policy advocacy priorities include extending and expanding federal clean energy tax credits under the Inflation Reduction Act, streamlining permitting processes for transmission line and renewable energy project construction on federal lands, reforming electricity market rules to better accommodate variable renewable generation, and advocating for supply chain policies that support domestic manufacturing of wind turbines, solar panels, and battery systems. The association publishes annual market reports tracking installed wind, solar, and storage capacity across all fifty states, and hosts the CLEANPOWER conference, the largest renewable energy industry gathering in North America.
