Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank established in 2016 and headquartered in Beijing, with a mission of financing Infrastructure for Tomorrow—infrastructure with sustainability at its core. The Bank counts more than 100 approved members spanning Asia, Europe, Africa, the Americas and Oceania, and provides financing for energy, transport, urban, water and digital infrastructure projects across developing regions. AIIB publishes annual financial statements and sustainability reports, maintains a transparent governance structure with a Board of Governors and Board of Directors, and operates an accountability mechanism and independent oversight framework. Its website offers news, events, annual meetings information, procurement notices and a library of basic documents including the Articles of Agreement. Through sovereign-backed loans, co-financing with other institutions and partnerships, AIIB supports climate-friendly and socially responsible infrastructure that promotes regional connectivity and economic development.
