About this website
The Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, abbreviated ASME, is a Singapore-based business organization founded in 1986 to represent the interests of small and medium enterprises in Singapore. ASME counts among its members companies from diverse sectors including retail, food and beverage, professional services, information technology, logistics, manufacturing, and construction. Singapore has over two hundred thousand SMEs which collectively employ about two-thirds of the workforce and contribute roughly half of the national GDP, making the SME sector a critical pillar of the economy. ASME is known for organizing the annual Rotary-ASME Entrepreneur of the Year Award, one of the most prestigious entrepreneurship awards in Singapore, which has recognized outstanding entrepreneurs since 1989. The Association also runs business development programs, networking events, and training workshops covering topics such as digital transformation, human resource management, financial planning, brand building, and market expansion into ASEAN through Singapore as a regional headquarters.
