Beer Institute

The Beer Institute, headquartered in Washington, is the national trade association for the American brewing industry, founded in 1986 through the consolidation of two predecessor organizations. The institute advocates on federal policy issues including the federal excise tax rate on beer, food safety modernization requirements, Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives labeling and formula approval requirements, and advertising self-regulatory standards. The organization publishes the Brewers Almanac, an annual statistical compendium of domestic and imported beer production, shipments, consumption, and trade data that serves as the definitive industry reference for market analysts and economic researchers tracking beverage industry trends.
