Chat4Data is a browser extension, specifically designed for Chrome, that functions as an artificial intelligence-powered web scraper. Its core purpose is to allow users to extract structured data from any webpage by simply describing what they need in natural language, as if having a conversation. Instead of writing complex CSS selectors, XPath expressions, or custom scripts, users type a chat prompt—for example, "get all product prices and names from this page" or "extract all email addresses and LinkedIn profile links"—and the tool autonomously navigates the website, interprets the page structure, and returns the requested data in a clean, organized format. The extension operates on a deep understanding of web pages: it analyzes both the visual layout (how the page looks) and the underlying code (HTML, DOM structure). This dual approach enables it to remain reliable even when websites change their design or update their code. If a site’s layout shifts after a redesign, Chat4Data adapts automatically and continues to extract the correct information without requiring manual reconfiguration. The tool supports a wide variety of data types, including text, images, hyperlinks, email addresses, phone numbers, numbers, dates, and more. It can handle single-page extractions as well as multi-page crawling, following links and pagination to gather data across an entire site. Users can also specify rules or filters within the chat prompt, such as "only get data from the last 10 pages" or "exclude items with price over $100." The extracted data can be exported in common formats like CSV, JSON, or pasted directly into spreadsheets or databases.
