Clay is a go-to-market platform that enables businesses to source, enrich, and act on unique data about their target accounts and contacts. It serves as a unified workspace where users can access over 150 premium data providers — including data from LinkedIn, Crunchbase, Apollo, and others — through a single interface. Instead of manually switching between multiple tools or exporting CSV files, users can pull real-time firmographic, technographic, and intent signals directly into their workflows. The platform introduces "Claygents," which are AI-powered research agents that autonomously scan the web to gather background information on companies and individuals. These agents can be prompted with natural language instructions to identify decision-makers, check recent fundraising news, or verify email addresses. A key feature is the Waterfall system, which allows users to combine multiple data providers sequentially. For example, if the first provider returns a blank field for a phone number, the system automatically falls back to a second or third provider until it finds a match, ensuring the highest possible data coverage.
