About this website

Cockpit is an open-source web-based graphical interface for Linux servers, providing system administration, monitoring, and container management through a modern browser-based dashboard. Developed by Red Hat and the Linux community, Cockpit is included by default in RHEL, CentOS Stream, Fedora, and Ubuntu Server. Key features: web-based management (browser-accessible dashboard for managing Linux servers without SSH, with responsive design for desktop and mobile). System monitoring (real-time CPU, memory, disk I/O, and network traffic graphs, plus process list with resource usage and signal sending). Service management (systemd service control with start, stop, restart, enable, disable, and log viewing for system services). Storage management (disk and filesystem management including partitioning, LVM, RAID, NFS mounts, iSCSI, and formatting with ext4, xfs, and btrfs). Network configuration (interface management, bonding, VLAN, firewall configuration via firewalld, and network diagnostics). Software updates (package updates via dnf, apt, or PackageKit with security update filtering and update history). User accounts (create, modify, and delete system users with group membership, password management, and SSH key management). SELinux (SELinux policy management, troubleshooting, and boolean configuration from the web interface). Kubernetes (built-in Kubernetes dashboard for managing pods, deployments, and services on Kubernetes clusters). Podman containers (container management for Podman containers with image search, creation, start, stop, and terminal access). Terminal (integrated web-based terminal emulator for direct command-line access from the browser). Multi-server (manage multiple servers from a single Cockpit instance via SSH). Session recording (tlog integration for recording terminal sessions for audit and compliance). No agent required (uses existing system APIs including systemd, NetworkManager, and PackageKit, with no additional agent installation).
