Eddie AI is an artificial intelligence-powered assistant designed specifically for video professionals who handle interview-based content, documentary-style edits, and long-form footage. The tool integrates directly into existing editing workflows, allowing users to import raw interview footage and then interact with Eddie through natural language commands to generate rough cuts, select best soundbites, organize A-roll and B-roll, and produce structured story sequences in seconds. The primary function of Eddie is to reduce the time spent on repetitive tasks such as logging, transcribing, and manually sifting through hours of footage. After importing video files—typically interviews or monologues—users can type or speak requests like “create a rough cut focusing on the main narrative arc” or “highlight the strongest soundbite from each speaker.” Eddie then analyzes the audio, detects key moments, and assembles a timeline with labeled segments, each accompanied by a smart summary and timestamp. This output can be immediately reviewed and refined within the same interface. For rough cut creation, Eddie automatically places B-roll sequences according to the story framework the user defines. For example, if a user prompts for a documentary-style story with alternating interview clips and contextual footage, Eddie will align the A-roll (speaker clips) with relevant B-roll from a separate library or from the same footage, ensuring visual continuity. The system also logs A-roll interviews automatically, generating a structured log with speaker names, topic tags, and the most impactful sentences. This log can be exported as a text file or kept as a metadata overlay within the project. Beyond basic editing, Eddie offers a feature called Night Shift, which processes long batches o
