Elements of AI

Elements of AI is a free online educational platform created jointly by MinnaLearn and the University of Helsinki. The primary purpose of this platform is to provide accessible, non-technical introductions to artificial intelligence for people who have no background in programming, mathematics, or computer science. The course series consists of two main parts: "Introduction to AI" and "Building AI." The first course covers fundamental concepts such as what AI is, how it is developed, what problems it solves, and how it impacts society, jobs, and everyday life. It explains machine learning, neural networks, and common AI techniques using real-world examples and plain language, without requiring any coding or advanced math skills. The second course, "Building AI," builds on the basics and guides learners through the process of actually creating simple AI applications, using intuitive tools and step-by-step tutorials. This two-course structure allows users to progress from theoretical understanding to practical experimentation in a gradual, hands-on manner.
