About this website

The Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations, abbreviated ECCSA, is the apex private sector organization in Ethiopia, established in 1947 and headquartered in Addis Ababa. Ethiopia is the second most populous country in Africa with over one hundred twenty million people and has one of the fastest-growing economies on the continent, with key sectors including agriculture where coffee exports generate significant foreign exchange, flower and horticulture exports to Europe, textile and garment manufacturing in industrial parks such as Bole Lemi and Hawassa, leather products, and construction. Ethiopia is the origin of Arabica coffee and remains Africa's largest coffee producer, with the Yirgacheffe and Sidamo regions producing some of the world's most sought-after specialty coffee beans. ECCSA represents city chambers of commerce across Ethiopia including those in Addis Ababa, Dire Dawa, Hawassa, Bahir Dar, Mekelle, and Adama, as well as sectoral associations for manufacturing, agriculture, mining, tourism, and services. The Chamber advocates for the private sector in dialogue with the Ethiopian government, facilitates business-to-business matchmaking between Ethiopian enterprises and foreign partners, and organizes trade fairs including the Ethiopia Chamber International Trade Fair.
