About this website

Delta is a syntax-highlighting pager for git, diff, grep, and blame output, written in Rust by Dan Davison. With over 31,300 stars as of 2026, Delta transforms the raw diff output from git into a beautifully formatted, syntax-highlighted, and highly readable format directly in the terminal. Key features include: language syntax highlighting using all color themes available in bat (over 150 themes including Dracula, GitHub, Monokai, Solarized, Nord, One Dark), word-level diff highlighting using a Levenshtein edit inference algorithm that shows exact word changes within changed lines, side-by-side view with automatic line wrapping for long lines, line numbering for precise diff navigation, keyboard navigation (n and N keys to jump between diff sections and files in git log -p views), improved merge conflict display with three-way visual markers, enhanced git blame output with syntax highlighting and clickable commit hyperlinks to GitHub/GitLab/SourceHut/Codeberg, grep output highlighting for rg, git grep, and grep commands, support for git color-moved feature for detecting moved code blocks, commit hash hyperlink formatting as terminal hyperlinks, file path hyperlinks for opening files in the OS, code copying directly from diffs (with +/- markers stripped), diff-so-fancy and diff-highlight emulation modes, stylable box and line decorations for commit, file, and hunk headers, over 20 configurable style elements using git color language, automatic light/dark terminal background detection, and configurable themes via .gitconfig. Version 0.19.2, MIT licensed, 152 contributors.
