Humaaans

Humaaans is a free, open-source illustration library that provides a collection of modular, vector-based human figures and components designed for digital design workflows. The library focuses on mix-and-match flexibility, allowing users to customize characters by swapping out different hairstyles, tops, pants, and accessories. Each element is independently rotatable and repositionable, enabling designers to create unique poses and compositions without needing to draw from scratch. The illustrations are built using vector shapes, making them infinitely scalable and editable in design tools such as InVision Studio, Sketch, or any vector-capable application. The entire library is released under the CC0 license, meaning all assets are free for both personal and commercial use, with no attribution required. The core functionality revolves around a Lego-like assembly system: users can drag and drop body parts—heads, torsos, arms, legs—and adjust their angles and positions to fit specific layouts. For example, a character’s arm can be rotated to point at an interface element, or legs can be spread to suggest walking. This modularity saves time when creating user interface mockups, onboarding screens, error states, or landing page hero images. The library also integrates with Blush, a design tool that allows for further real-time customization and download of compositions. Humaaans includes a wide range of pre-made templates and scenes that demonstrate common use cases.
