About this website
JFrog Artifactory is a universal binary repository manager that serves as a single source of truth for all software artifacts, packages, and build dependencies across the entire software development lifecycle. Developed by JFrog Ltd. (headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, founded by Shlomi Ben Haim, Yoav Landman, and Frederic Simon in 2008), Artifactory is available in open-source (Community Edition) and commercial editions (Pro, Enterprise). Key features: universal package support: Artifactory supports over 30 package formats and build tools including Maven, Gradle, Ivy, npm, Yarn, PyPI (Python), NuGet (.NET), Docker, Helm, Go, RPM (Red Hat), Debian/Ubuntu APT, Conan (C++), Cargo (Rust), RubyGems, Vagrant, Chef, Puppet, Composer (PHP), Cran (R), Alpine Linux, P2 (Eclipse), and generic repositories. Repository types: local repositories (storing internally produced artifacts), remote repositories (caching/proxying external repositories like Maven Central, npm registry, PyPI), and virtual repositories (aggregating multiple repositories into a single access point). Build integration: integrates with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, Bamboo, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) via REST API and plugins, capturing build metadata. Promote builds between environments (dev, staging, production) with full traceability. High availability: HA cluster configuration with multiple Artifactory nodes for active-active redundancy. Replication: push and pull replication across geographically distributed instances. Security: role-based access control (RBAC), LDAP/Active Directory/SAML integration, artifact scanning via JFrog Xray (vulnerability detection, license compliance). Metadata and search: full-text search, checksum-based storage, and AQL (Artifactory Query Language). Docker Registry: certified Docker registry with garbage collection. REST API and Terraform provider. Cross-platform.
