Keep It Shot

Keep It Shot is a macOS application designed to help users manage and organize their screenshots efficiently. The core functionality revolves around artificial intelligence that automatically generates descriptive, meaningful names for screenshot files. Instead of relying on generic filenames like "Screenshot 2024-01-01 at 12.34.56 PM.png", the AI analyzes the content of each image and assigns a name that reflects what is actually shown, such as "Meeting Notes with John – Budget Discussion.png". This significantly reduces the time spent manually renaming files and makes it easier to locate specific screenshots later. Beyond renaming, Keep It Shot builds an offline, fully private search index that operates entirely on the user's local machine. The application ensures privacy by storing all images and index data locally; the developers explicitly state that they do not store user images. The tool also offers batch renaming capabilities. Users can select multiple files and rename them in just two clicks, with a progress bar displaying the operation's status.
