Koodo Reader

Koodo Reader (stylized as耕读) is an open-source, cross-platform e-book reader application supporting Windows, macOS, Linux, and a web-based reader, with the current stable release at version 1.7.4 as of 2025. The software handles over a dozen major e-book formats including EPUB, PDF, Markdown, the proprietary FBI format, TXT, UMD, DOCX, RTF, AZW3, and AZW4, making it compatible with the majority of e-books available in Chinese-speaking markets. Feature highlights include an integrated book catalog with chapter navigation, reader notes and highlights with copy-to-clipboard support, dual-page and single-page reading modes plus continuous scroll, an eye-protection dark theme, adjustable font size and family, and automatic book reading progress memory across sessions. Koodo Reader is released under the AGPL open-source license, with its full source code available on GitHub. The development team actively engages with the user community through a dedicated forum where feature requests and bug reports are tracked, and a professional edition is available as a closed beta for power users seeking additional functionality beyond the free tier.
