LinuxServer dot io is an open-source community project founded in 2015, providing a collection of high-quality, regularly updated Docker images for popular self-hosted applications and services, with images built on a common base layer including custom init system, s6 overlay for process supervision, PUID and PGID for proper file permission handling, and consistent environment variable configuration patterns, serving over two billion Docker Hub pulls across hundreds of containerized applications, adopted by home lab enthusiasts, small businesses, and homelab communities worldwide for self-hosting media servers, file synchronization, network tools, and development environments. The container catalog includes media applications through the Sonarr for TV show management, Radarr for movie management, Lidarr for music management, Readarr for book management, and Prowlarr for torrent indexer management, along with media servers through Plex, Emby, Jellyfin, and Navidrome for music streaming, and the Bazarr for subtitle management, providing a complete ecosystem for self-hosted media management with automated downloading, metadata fetching, and library organization.
