Logseq Knowledge Management

Logseq is a free and open source knowledge management application that combines note-taking, task management, and networked thinking through a local-first, privacy-focused architecture. Version 0.10.15 is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. Unlike cloud-dependent tools, Logseq stores all data locally as Markdown and Org-mode files, giving users complete ownership and control over their knowledge base with no vendor lock-in. The application employs a block-based outliner structure where notes are organized hierarchically through indentation, with automatic backlinks creating a bidirectional graph of interconnected ideas. Key features include daily journaling for capturing thoughts in chronological order, bi-directional linking through wiki-style references, task management with TODO/DOING/DONE states and deadlines, PDF annotation with highlights and annotations linked to notes, flashcards for spaced repetition learning, and whiteboards for visual thinking on an infinite canvas. Logseq supports queries using Datalog syntax for creating dynamic views of notes matching specific criteria, and block references for embedding content from other pages. The platform offers 150 plus community plugins for extending functionality and 30 plus themes for customization. Logseq Sync provides end-to-end encrypted synchronization across devices, ensuring notes are always up-to-date while maintaining privacy.
