Ona, formerly known as Gitpod, is a platform for running background AI software engineering agents in the cloud, with orchestration and governance enforced at the kernel level. Founded by Johannes Landgraf, the platform enables development teams to deploy teams of AI engineers that execute tasks autonomously, producing pull requests as output. Background agents accept task descriptions and deliver complete code changes, allowing developers to maintain momentum from any device while agents work in parallel.
