About this website
Appsmith is an open source low-code platform for building, deploying, and maintaining internal enterprise applications and admin panels without extensive frontend development. The visual drag-and-drop interface lets users compose application UIs from pre-built widgets including tables, forms, charts, buttons, modals, tabs, lists, maps, rich text editors, file pickers, date pickers, dropdowns, radio groups, checkboxes, and over 45 other component types. Data connectivity covers 18 plus database and API integrations including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Snowflake, DynamoDB, Oracle, MS SQL Server, Amazon S3, Google Sheets, and any REST or GraphQL API, with connection pooling, query templates, and prepared statement support for SQL injection prevention. JavaScript expressions can be embedded anywhere in the platform to write custom logic for widget properties, event handlers, data transformations, validation rules, and conditional rendering, giving developers the flexibility to handle complex business logic that exceeds simple CRUD operations. Version control integration connects to Git repositories for branching, merging, pull requests, and CI pipelines, enabling team collaboration with audit trails and rollback capabilities. Role-based access control manages granular permissions at application, page, and widget levels, with integration options for OIDC, SAML, and Google OAuth for enterprise authentication. Self-hosting is supported through Docker or Kubernetes with complete data sovereignty, while the cloud option provides managed hosting with automatic backups and SSL. The platform also supports custom JS libraries through npm integration, JavaScript code reuse through reusable functions and components, environment-specific configuration management, and scheduled cron jobs for automated data tasks.
