About this website
openEuler is an open source Linux distribution incubated by Huawei and operated by the OpenAtom Foundation, designed for server, cloud computing, edge computing, and embedded scenarios across digital infrastructure. Since being open sourced in 2019, the project has attracted hundreds of enterprises and tens of thousands of developers worldwide, forming a comprehensive software ecosystem spanning kernels, virtualization, containers, compilers, databases, and AI frameworks. The kernel is deeply optimized based on Linux and supports multiple processor architectures including ARM64, x86 64, RISC V, LoongArch, and SW64, making it the first operating system to natively support full scenario computing power. Core innovations include the iSulad lightweight container engine with over 30 percent faster startup compared to traditional engines, A Tune AI based intelligent performance tuning system for automatic system optimization, StratoVirt lightweight virtualization with microsecond level startup latency, and Gazelle high performance userspace network stack for significantly improved network throughput. The long term support release version 22.03 LTS provides four years of community maintenance. Downstream commercial distributions include Kylin Software, UnionTech Software, SUSE, and others. The platform has passed Level 3 security protection certification, CC EAL2 plus evaluation, and is widely deployed in finance, telecommunications, energy, and transportation critical infrastructure industries.
