OpenMAIC

OpenMAIC is an open-source platform that functions as an AI-powered interactive classroom, designed to transform static learning materials into dynamic, multi-agent educational experiences. Users can upload a PDF document of any subject—such as a textbook chapter, a lecture note, or a course syllabus—and the system automatically generates an immersive learning environment where multiple AI agents play distinct roles: a tutor, a peer learner, a quiz master, or a lab assistant. Each agent interacts with the student in real time, asking questions, providing explanations, simulating experiments, and offering feedback. The platform supports a wide range of subjects and educational levels, from elementary school science to advanced computer networking. For example, a PDF about electrical circuits is converted into a drag-and-drop simulation where students can place components like resistors and batteries, observe current and voltage changes instantly, and receive guided explanations from the AI agents. A PDF on subnet planning becomes an interactive exercise where learners calculate IP addresses, subnet masks, and CIDR notations while the agents check their reasoning step by step. For language arts, a PDF of traditional Chinese composition techniques is turned into a collaborative writing workshop, where the AI agents help brainstorm themes, structure narratives, and refine expressions. Teachers and learners can also build custom courses from scratch using the built-in professional mode, which includes an outline pre-editor, interactive slide creation, and offline export of classroom sessions.
