Poised is an artificial intelligence-powered communication coach designed to help individuals improve their speaking and presentation skills in real time. Unlike traditional feedback tools that require after-the-fact analysis, Poised operates during live calls, meetings, and presentations, providing instant, non-intrusive suggestions that allow users to adjust their pace, tone, clarity, and confidence as they speak. The tool runs silently in the background on Mac and Windows computers—it does not currently support mobile devices—and is built to be discreet: no other participant on the call is aware that the user is receiving coaching. This makes it particularly suitable for professionals who want to refine their communication without drawing attention to the process. One of Poised’s core features is real-time feedback on spoken language. The system analyzes metrics such as speaking rate, filler word usage (like “um” and “uh”), volume variation, and sentence structure. It then surfaces concise, actionable prompts directly on the user’s screen—for example, suggesting to slow down, pause before key points, or avoid repetition. These prompts are designed to be minimally distracting, appearing and disappearing quickly so the user can stay engaged in the conversation. Another significant capability is live speaker notes. Poised can automatically display meeting notes or an agenda on the user’s screen and cross off items as they are covered. This helps the speaker stay on track without needing to manually scroll through documents.
