Poly Haven

Poly Haven is a public online platform that provides free, high-quality 3D assets, primarily focusing on High Dynamic Range Images (HDRIs) and physically based rendering (PBR) textures. The platform aims to support artists, designers, and developers who work in 3D graphics, including fields such as game development, architectural visualization, film production, virtual reality, and product design. All assets are available for free download under a permissive license, with the goal of making professional-grade environmental lighting and material maps accessible to everyone. The HDRI collection includes spherical environment maps with resolutions up to 16,000 pixels per side. These images are captured or rendered with a full dynamic range and are never clipped, meaning they preserve extreme brightness and shadow details for realistic lighting in any 3D rendering software. Each HDRI can be used as a light source and background for scenes, providing accurate illumination and reflections. The textures section contains photoscanned, seamless PBR materials that are tileable and suitable for repeating surface applications. These textures come in resolutions of at least 8,000 pixels, offering fine details for close-up shots. Each texture typically includes color (albedo), roughness, metallic, normal, displacement, and ambient occlusion maps, following the PBR workflow standard used by engines like Unreal Engine, Unity, Blender, and Maya. Poly Haven also offers a Blender add-on that directly integrates the asset library into Blender’s asset browser. This allows users to browse, preview, and apply HDRIs and textures without leaving the software.
