Raster

Raster is a modern digital asset management (DAM) platform designed to serve both human team members and AI agents in storing, organizing, searching, transforming, and delivering visual assets. The platform addresses a critical gap in the current creative and development workflow: while AI tools have made image generation instantaneous, the underlying asset management infrastructure has not kept pace. Teams now produce, edit, remix, and deploy a far greater volume of images than traditional DAM systems were built to handle. Raster reimagines this layer to match the speed and complexity of modern asset pipelines. At its core, Raster provides a unified repository for visual files — including PNG, JPEG, GIF, SVG, WebP, and other formats commonly used in product design, marketing, and engineering. Users can upload assets directly or integrate the platform with existing tools through APIs. The system automatically extracts metadata such as dimensions, color palettes, file types, creation dates, and embedded tags. This metadata, combined with AI-powered content recognition, enables powerful search capabilities: teams can find assets by describing visual content (e.g., “woman holding a smartphone on a blue background”), by color, by object, or by custom labels. Raster also supports automated transformation workflows. For example, a user can define rules that resize, compress, or convert images to specific formats upon upload. These transformations can be triggered by events or called programmatically by AI agents, making Raster a “headless” DAM that integrates directly into CI/CD pipelines, content management systems, or design-to-code workflows. The platform exposes a RESTful API and SDKs that allow developers to build custom integrations and automate asset delivery at scale.
