Responsible AI Institute is a membership-based organization focused on helping enterprises build, deploy, and govern artificial intelligence systems in a way that meets emerging regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations. Founded in 2016, the institute has grown a global community of over 44,000 professionals and aligns its work with 17 international standards for AI governance. Its core mission is to provide independent verification for enterprise AI systems, giving organizations defensible proof for regulators, auditors, and boards that proper controls are in place. The institute offers a structured certification program for AI systems, which evaluates whether an AI application meets predefined criteria across risk management, transparency, fairness, accountability, and security.
