About this website

Rive is a motion design and interactive animation tool that enables teams to create, animate, and integrate complex interactive graphics directly into applications, games, and websites without the need for mockups, prototypes, or handoff. The platform is built around a single editor where designers, animators, and developers collaborate in real time on the same file, outputting production‑ready assets that behave exactly as designed. At its core, Rive provides a vector‑based editor for crafting resolution‑independent illustrations, character rigs, and UI components. Users can apply state machines, triggers, and logic directly to animations, allowing graphics to respond to user input, scroll position, device orientation, or any runtime variable. This makes Rive particularly suited for interactive storytelling, game UI, automotive dashboards, mobile app interfaces, and even film/TV motion graphics. The editor supports layered timelines, nested artboards, mesh deformation, bone‑based skeletal animation, and procedural effects such as gradients, blur, and masks. Every element can be assigned a name and grouped into hierarchies, making it easy for developers to manipulate individual parts from code. Animation events can be attached to keyframes, enabling audio syncing, haptic feedback, or analytics tracking at runtime. Rive’s runtime library is open source and available for 14+ platforms: Web, iOS, macOS, Android, Flutter, React, React Native, Framer, Webflow, Wix Studio, C++, Defold, Unity, and Unreal Engine. The runtime loads compressed `.riv` files and plays them with a low memory footprint, handling hundreds of simultaneous animated instances without frame drops. Because the same file works across all platforms, teams can design once and deploy to desktops, mobile device
