About this website

RustDesk is a free and open-source remote desktop application that provides an alternative to commercial remote desktop solutions like TeamViewer and AnyDesk. Written in Rust and Flutter, RustDesk was created by RustDesk Team (with primary contributor _rag_ and a global community of 500+ contributors) in 2021 and is headquartered in Singapore. Key features: cross-platform remote desktop: supports Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS, enabling remote control of any desktop from any device. Self-hosted: users can host their own relay server (hbbr/hbbs relay servers written in Rust) for complete control over data routing and privacy, eliminating the need for third-party cloud services. The self-hosted server requires minimal resources and can run on a simple VPS. End-to-end encryption: all connections are encrypted using端-to-end encryption with NaCl (Networking and Cryptography Library) and ChaCha20-Poly1305, ensuring that even the relay server cannot decrypt the traffic. Key exchange uses X25519. File transfer: drag-and-drop file transfer between local and remote machines with clipboard sharing (text and images). TCP tunneling: create TCP tunnels through the remote desktop connection, enabling port forwarding for services behind NAT. Privacy mode: blank the remote screen during a session to prevent shoulder surfing. Multi-monitor support: view and switch between multiple monitors on the remote machine. Quality settings: adjustable image quality, color depth, and frame rate for bandwidth optimization. Hardware encoding: H.264 hardware encoding for smooth remote desktop experience. Connection modes: direct IP connection, relay server connection, and ID-based connection. Auto-reconnect on network interruption. Custom branding and customization for enterprise. Unattended access with permanent password. 2FA support. AGPL-3.0.
