Singapore Motor Cycle Trade Association

The Singapore Motor Cycle Trade Association, abbreviated SMCTA, represents the motorcycle trade industry in Singapore, including motorcycle dealers, distributors, spare parts suppliers, and repair service providers. The motorcycle industry in Singapore is regulated under the Land Transport Authority's framework, which includes the COE or Certificate of Entitlement bidding system, vehicle registration fees, and periodic vehicle inspection requirements administered by Vicom and other inspection centers. SMCTA members include dealerships that sell popular motorcycle brands such as Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Harley-Davidson, and BMW Motorrad, as well as workshops providing maintenance and repair services for the large population of delivery riders who use motorcycles and scooters for food delivery and parcel delivery services. The Association facilitates dialogue between the motorcycle trade and government authorities on issues such as parking fees, toll charges at causeways to Malaysia, emission standards, and safety regulations for motorcycle pillion riders.
