About this website
The Singapore Retailers Association, abbreviated SRA, was established in 1977 and is the national trade body representing the retail industry in Singapore. SRA represents retailers across all formats including department stores, supermarkets, specialty stores, convenience stores, e-commerce platforms, and shopping mall operators. The retail sector in Singapore contributes approximately five percent to GDP and employs over one hundred fifty thousand workers, with major shopping districts including Orchard Road, Marina Bay, VivoCity, and Jurong. SRA organizes the annual Singapore Retail Festival, a month-long event that transforms shopping precincts with pop-up activations, and hosts the SRA Retail Awards Gala Dinner recognizing excellence in retail innovation and customer service. The Association provides training programs through its retail academy on topics including omnichannel retailing, visual merchandising, customer experience management, and digital payment systems, and advocates for retailers on issues such as rental costs, manpower constraints, and the impact of e-commerce competition from regional platforms.
