Softr is a no-code web application builder that transforms spreadsheet data from Airtable and Google Sheets into fully functional client portals, internal tools, directories, and membership websites through pre-designed blocks and templates, enabling non-technical users to create professional web applications in minutes without writing code, managing servers, or deploying infrastructure. The block-based building system provides over thirty pre-built content blocks including hero sections, feature lists, data tables, card grids, charts, forms, calendars, pricing tables, testimonial sections, and navigation bars, which users arrange on pages through drag-and-drop positioning, with each block connecting to data fields from the underlying spreadsheet or database for dynamic content display. The data source integration primarily connects with Airtable as a backend database, enabling applications to read from and write to Airtable tables through the Softr interface, with field-level control over which data appears in lists, cards, and detail pages, plus support for Google Sheets as an alternative data source. The user authentication system provides signup, login, password reset, and role-based access control with predefined roles including administrator, member, and guest, enabling creation of gated content, member directories, and personalized dashboards where logged-in users see only their own data.
