Svaz průmyslu a dopravy České republiky, abbreviated as SP CR, is the largest business association in the Czech Republic, representing the interests of Czech manufacturing industry and transportation sector. Headquartered in Prague, the Confederation was established in 1993 following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia and serves as the successor organization to the previous industrial associations. The Czech Republic has a highly industrialized economy with manufacturing accounting for approximately thirty percent of GDP, making it one of the most industry-intensive economies in the European Union. Key Czech industrial sectors include automotive manufacturing with companies like Škoda Auto, engineering and machinery, electronics, glass and crystal production, food processing, and steel. The Confederation represents over twelve thousand member companies and advocates on economic policy issues including energy costs and competitiveness, labor market regulations, European Union emissions trading, and trade relations with key export markets in Germany and across Central Europe.
