Spaceship

Spaceship is a domain name marketplace and registrar that facilitates the buying, selling, and transfer of internet domain names. The platform provides a streamlined transaction environment where domain sellers list their assets and buyers can acquire them through a secure, checkout-based process. When a domain is listed for sale, Spaceship handles the entire transaction flow, including payment collection, domain push, and ownership transfer, ensuring both parties have a protected experience. One of the core functions of Spaceship is its buyer protection program. This program safeguards purchasers by holding payment in escrow until the domain has been successfully transferred to the buyer’s account. The platform verifies the domain’s availability and ownership before releasing funds to the seller, reducing the risk of fraud. Additionally, Spaceship supports multiple payment methods, including credit cards, PayPal, and wire transfers, giving buyers flexibility in how they complete the purchase. The transfer process is designed to be fast and straightforward. After a buyer completes payment, Spaceship initiates a domain push from the seller’s registrar account to the buyer’s account. The platform provides step-by-step guidance and automates many of the technical steps, such as updating the domain’s EPP code or authorization code. For domains that are already registered with Spaceship, the transfer can be completed within minutes; for external domains, the process typically takes a few days depending on the registrar’s confirmation cycle. Spaceship also offers a “Make Offer” feature for domains listed at negotiable prices. Buyers can submit a price they are willing to pay, and the seller can accept, reject, or counter the offer.
