Stylar is a mobile application designed to enable users to virtually try on clothing and accessories by generating realistic images of themselves wearing various outfits. The core functionality revolves around a “swipe-to-see” interface, where users can browse through different styles, brands, and combinations of garments that are rendered directly onto their own uploaded photographs. The app uses computer vision and image synthesis technology to map clothing items onto the user’s body shape, pose, and skin tone, creating a lifelike preview that adjusts to the user’s specific measurements. First, a user captures or uploads a full-body photo (or multiple angles) within the app. The system analyzes the user’s figure, including proportions, posture, and facial features, to build a personal digital avatar. Then, from a curated library of real-world clothing—sourced from partner retailers and brands—the app overlays selected items onto the avatar. Users can swipe left or right to cycle through different top-and-bottom combinations, jackets, dresses, shoes, and accessories, seeing how each piece drapes, folds, and interacts with lighting. The clothing models are high-resolution and textured, simulating fabric behavior such as wrinkles, sheen, and transparency where applicable. A key feature is the ability to mix and match garments from different collections. For example, a user can pair a specific blouse from one brand with jeans from another, then add a handbag from a third, and see the full outfit in real time.
