Tailbox is an email tracking and analytics platform designed to help individuals and businesses understand how their email communications are received. The core functionality focuses on monitoring email opens, link clicks, and overall engagement metrics. When a user sends an email through their regular email client—such as Gmail, Outlook, or Apple Mail—Tailbox attaches a small invisible tracking pixel and wraps the links with redirect URLs. This allows the service to collect data on when the email was opened, the recipient’s geographic location (approximate city or region), the device type (mobile, desktop, tablet), the operating system, and the email client used. For any links inside the email, Tailbox tracks each click and records the timestamp, the specific link clicked, and the recipient’s IP address. The platform presents all this information in a clean, real-time dashboard where users can see a chronological feed of opens and clicks. Users can also view per-recipient profiles, showing the history of their interactions with previous emails. This granular data helps sales teams, marketers, recruiters, freelancers, and customer support agents prioritize follow-ups. For example, a salesperson can see that a prospect opened an email twice in one day, indicating strong interest, and then decide to call them immediately.
