Talent Llama is an AI-driven interview platform designed to streamline the screening process for knowledge workers by replacing traditional initial interviews with automated, structured, and bias-reduced assessments. The platform is currently being re-integrated into the broader Ashby hiring ecosystem, but its core functionality remains centered on creating and managing AI interview agents that conduct two-way voice conversations with candidates. The primary purpose of Talent Llama is to help hiring teams save time and reduce subjectivity in early-stage candidate evaluation. Instead of requiring recruiters or hiring managers to conduct dozens of phone screens, the platform allows them to collaborate with an “interview campaign agent” — an AI assistant that guides the setup process. Users start by defining the job requirements, key competencies, and desired experience levels for a specific role. The AI agent then helps craft a customized interview script, including questions that probe technical skills, problem-solving abilities, cultural fit, and communication capabilities. Once the interview is designed, the system can launch multiple AI interview agents simultaneously. These agents autonomously send invitation emails or calendar links to candidates. During the interview, the agent conducts a natural, conversational voice interview — not a text-based chat or a recorded video prompt. The candidate speaks their answers aloud, and the AI listens, asks follow-up questions when appropriate, and records the full interaction. The agents take detailed notes, capturing not only the literal answers but also contextual cues like pauses, hesitations, or confidence in tone. The platform then evaluates each response against the predefined criteria, generating a structured scorecard
