Twilio Communications Platform

Twilio is a cloud communications platform founded in 2008 by Jeff Lawson, Evan Cooke, and John Wolthuis, headquartered in San Francisco, providing programmable APIs for voice, messaging, video, email, and authentication. The platform enables developers to embed communication capabilities into applications through REST APIs, SDKs, and helper libraries available in seven programming languages including Python, Java, C-sharp, Ruby, PHP, Node, and Go. The messaging API supports SMS, MMS, WhatsApp Business, RCS, and short codes across more than 180 countries, with intelligent routing, delivery status tracking, and compliance tools for opt-in management. Twilio also offers AI-powered conversation tools including Conversation Relay for real-time voice AI agents, Conversation Intelligence for transcription and summarization, and Conversation Memory for persistent context across channels.
