Ultimaps

Ultimaps is a browser-based map visualization tool that allows users to transform spreadsheet data into custom maps without requiring any sign-up or software installation. The platform supports direct data import from Excel files or Google Sheets, enabling users to color-code geographic regions—such as countries, states, counties, or provinces—based on numerical values, categories, or custom parameters. Once the data is mapped, users can export the result as high-resolution PNG, SVG, or as an interactive map that can be embedded into websites, dashboards, or presentations. The exported interactive maps maintain dynamic features such as tooltips, zoom, and region highlighting, making them suitable for data storytelling and audience engagement. The tool includes a library of over 200 pre-built maps and regions, covering global, national, and subnational boundaries like U.S. counties, Indian states, Chinese provinces, French departments, Canadian provinces, and many others. Users can also upload their own GeoJSON files for custom boundaries. The platform is designed for a variety of use cases: sales teams can create territory maps to visualize revenue or quota attainment by region; political analysts can build election result maps with party-color coding; marketers can produce coverage or presence maps to show store locations or service areas; researchers and educators can generate choropleth maps for demographic data, health statistics, or environmental indicators; and logistics managers can map distribution networks or route density. The mapping process is straightforward: after selecting a base map from the library, users paste or upload their data table, choose a column for region names and a column for values, then assign color gradients, discrete color palettes, or c
