BASE is a Bielefeld University academic search engine providing access to over 300 million documents from more than 10,000 content sources with the majority being open-access full-text availability. The platform indexes repositories from universities and research institutions worldwide making it one of the largest searches for academic web resources. BASE uses the Bielefeld Academic Search and Template to provide standardized metadata across diverse sources. Researchers use BASE to find open-access publications that may not appear in commercial academic search engines.
