About this website

Color Push is a collaborative digital art experiment created by WeTransfer in partnership with artist Zach Lieberman. The project invites people from around the world to collectively generate abstract, colorful artworks by simply tapping on their screens. Each tap adds a burst of vibrant pixels — circles, lines, or other geometric shapes — that blend and overlap with contributions from other participants in real time. The interface is minimal: a blank canvas with a single instruction — “Tap to make your own.” There is no login, account creation, or sign-up required, lowering the barrier to participation. Once a user taps, a random color and shape appear at the touch point, and the result is instantly visible to everyone currently viewing the same global canvas. The artwork evolves continuously as thousands of taps accumulate, creating an ever-changing mosaic of collective expression. The experiment functions as a living, shared canvas where individual actions contribute to a larger, unpredictable composition. Unlike typical single-user drawing tools, Color Push emphasizes collaboration over control — the final image is never predetermined; it emerges from the interactions of many anonymous participants. The canvas resets periodically or after a certain volume of taps, giving each session a temporary, ephemeral quality. This design encourages playful exploration without the pressure of producing a “finished” piece. Users can observe the live feed of others’ contributions, seeing how one tap influences the next, and reflect on how their own small mark fits into a mass of simultaneous actions. Technically, Color Push uses WebSocket or similar real-time communication to sync all clients, ensuring that every tap is broadcast instantly. The color palette appears to be algorit
