Whisk AI is a free image generation tool developed by Google Labs that allows users to create original visuals by combining three separate visual references: a subject, a scene, and a style. Instead of typing a long text prompt, users simply select or upload three images that represent the core elements they want in the final output. The system uses Google’s Gemini model to analyze the content of each input image and then feeds the extracted concepts into Imagen 3, a high-fidelity text-to-image diffusion model, to produce a new, blended image. The process works as follows: First, the user picks an image that defines the main subject — for instance, a photograph of a specific person, an animal, or an object. Second, they choose an image that sets the background or environment, such as a city skyline, a forest path, or a cozy room. Third, they provide an image that conveys the desired artistic style — for example, a watercolor painting, a cyberpunk aesthetic, or a vintage comic book illustration. Whisk AI then identifies the key attributes from each source: the subject’s shape, color, and texture; the scene’s lighting, depth, and composition; and the style’s brushwork, color palette, and visual technique. The AI fuses these attributes into a coherent new image that retains the identity of the subject while placing it into the chosen scene and rendering it in the specified style. Beyond blending three images, Whisk AI also offers an artistic style processing feature. When a user provides a style reference, the tool recognizes the specific artistic direction — such as impressionist painting, vector art, or neon glow — and refines the prompt internally to match that vision.
