ZCode is a desktop application that integrates multiple AI agent command-line interfaces (CLIs) into a unified workspace, allowing developers to plan, code, review, and deploy software projects without leaving their existing toolchains. The application supports agents such as Claude CLI, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, and OpenCode CLI, enabling users to invoke different AI models for specific tasks directly from a task panel or command palette. Each task is tracked with estimated time, actual duration, and status, providing a clear timeline of development progress. For example, a user can create a smart Gomoku game by breaking the work into subtasks: setting up initial prompts, implementing heuristic AI moves for the opponent, adapting the board for mobile touch input, and adding rule explanations with empty-state guidance. Each subtask logs the time spent, ranging from a few minutes to over an hour, allowing teams to monitor effort distribution. ZCode also manages workspaces—individual project folders like “gomoku-ai,” “zcode-website,” or “zcode-desktop”—where tasks are organized hierarchically. The interface includes a sidebar that remembers collapsed states, a terminal panel with resize support and optimized redraw performance, and a command palette that shows recently used commands and keyboard shortcuts. For website projects, ZCode can fix layout issues such as resizing behavior for chat panels, rewrite hero visuals with dummy data for workspace and task components, adjust responsive breakpoints for 13-inch and mobile screens, and improve search result highlighting and empty-state feedback in documentation pages.
