Zoo

Zoo is a modern infrastructure provider for hardware design, offering a next-generation computer-aided design (CAD) platform called Zoo Design Studio. This platform is built around a conversational AI agent named Zookeeper, which acts as a reasoning-driven design assistant. Instead of relying on traditional parametric or direct modeling interfaces, Zookeeper interprets user intent through natural language dialog, then researches and iterates on geometry solutions in real time. It can generate 3D models based on high-level descriptions, adjust parameters based on manufacturing constraints, and provide feedback on design feasibility, such as draft angles, wall thickness, or material limitations. The underlying geometry engine is purpose-built for the modern era, handling hybrid CAD workflows that combine solid, surface, and mesh operations within a single session. Users can start a design from scratch, upload an existing file, or describe an object verbally, and Zookeeper will propose multiple design alternatives, explain its reasoning, and refine the model through follow-up prompts. For example, a hardware engineer can say “create a housing for a 50mm fan with snap-fit clips on both sides,” and Zookeeper will generate the geometry, check for interference with standard screw locations, and suggest reinforcement ribs where stress is likely. The platform also offers manufacturing-aware analysis, including overhang detection for 3D printing, draft angle evaluation for injection molding, and clearance checks for assembly.
