About this website

The Consumer Brands Association, formerly known as the Grocery Manufacturers Association and rebranded in 2020, is the trade organization representing the consumer packaged goods industry in the United States, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia. The association represents the companies that manufacture over ninety percent of the food, beverage, and household products sold in American grocery stores, drugstores, mass merchandise retailers, and online marketplaces. Member companies include Procter and Gamble, Unilever, Nestle USA, Kraft Heinz, General Mills, Mondelez International, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Clorox, and hundreds of other branded consumer product manufacturers. Policy advocacy priorities include the Food Safety Modernization Act implementation, food additive regulatory reform at the Food and Drug Administration, sustainable packaging legislation including extended producer responsibility laws and recycled content mandates, supply chain resilience policy, and cannabis product regulation as it intersects with consumer packaged goods. The association publishes quarterly industry benchmarking reports on consumer packaged goods industry performance and provides member companies with regulatory compliance tools and supply chain risk intelligence through its industry intelligence platform.
