Unlike traditional serverless platforms that spin up container instances, this platform runs code in lightweight V8 isolates, achieving cold starts under 5 milliseconds and supporting millions of concurrent executions per region. Developers write request handlers that process HTTP requests and responses with full access to streaming, cryptography, and caching APIs. The platform provides integrated storage solutions including a globally distributed key-value store for read-heavy workloads, a serverless SQL database with relational querying, Durable Objects for stateful WebSocket and real-time collaboration, and R2 object storage compatible with S3 APIs.
