Flash Homes is a dedicated online archive and preservation platform that aims to safeguard and revive the rich cultural heritage of Adobe Flash content from the late 1990s to the early 2010s. The website serves as a curated gallery where users can browse, search, and directly play hundreds of classic Flash animations, games, interactive art pieces, and multimedia experiments that were once hosted on platforms like FlashKit, Newgrounds, and various personal websites. As major Flash platforms have shut down and Adobe officially ended support for Flash Player in 2020, countless beloved works became inaccessible. This project steps in to rescue those digital artifacts by converting or emulating them using modern web technologies such as Ruffle, an open-source Flash Player emulator written in Rust, allowing visitors to experience the original content directly in their browsers on both desktop and mobile devices without any plugins. The interface is straightforward and user-friendly. Upon entering, visitors see a homepage featuring a "Popular Flash" section that highlights trending or historically significant pieces, such as "小小作品3号", "闪客快打", "黄金矿工", "狂扁小朋友", "密室逃脱1深红色房间", and many others from different genres. A search bar at the top enables users to find specific titles by name, and a navigation menu categorizes content into sections like "所有作品", "好玩的", and "更多", although the actual labels are in Chinese. The site also provides a "开发者说" (Developer's Note) section, where the creator explains the motivation: to preserve the joyful memories of the Flash era and make these works accessible again using modern tools.
