IcoMoon

IcoMoon is a web-based icon management and conversion tool that allows users to browse, organize, import, and export vector icons in multiple formats. Its primary function is to simplify the workflow of integrating icons into digital projects, whether for web development, graphic design, or application interfaces. Users can start by selecting from a built-in library of thousands of free and open-source icons, which are organized by categories such as arrows, media, user interface, and business. Alternatively, they can upload their own SVG files to create a personal icon set. Once icons are selected or imported, the tool provides a visual editor where each icon can be modified individually. Users can change the icon’s color, size, and alignment, and assign a Unicode character or a custom name for reference. The core strength of IcoMoon lies in its export capabilities. It can generate icon fonts in WOFF, WOFF2, EOT, and TTF formats, which are compatible with all modern browsers and can be embedded directly into CSS or used in HTML via class names or char codes. For each font export, the tool automatically generates a CSS stylesheet with predefined classes and pseudo‑element selectors, reducing the need for manual coding. It also supports exporting icons as standalone SVG files, either as individual images or as a spritesheet (a single image containing multiple icons arranged in a grid). PNG rasterization is available with custom dimensions and DPI settings, making the output suitable for fixed-size applications like mobile apps or print materials. Additionally, IcoMoon can produce PDF documents that list all selected icons with their labels and Unicode mappings, which is useful for documentation or client approval.
