About this website

Magic UI is an open-source component library designed for design engineers, offering over 150 free animated components and effects built with React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Motion. The project was created by Dillion Verma and has accumulated over 21,300 GitHub stars. The library is explicitly designed as a companion to shadcn/ui, extending the foundational component primitives with animation-focused effects such as Border Beam for animated gradient borders, Number Ticker for count-up animations, Marquee for infinite scrolling displays, Text Reveal for scroll-triggered typography, Globe for interactive 3D globe visualizations, Dot Pattern and Grid Pattern for decorative backgrounds, Shimmer Button for animated call-to-action elements, Animated Gradient Text for gradient typography, Bento Grid for layout composition, and the Command Palette for searchable command interfaces. The Pro tier extends the free offering with over 50 production-ready blocks and landing page templates, designed for rapid deployment with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor. The library is used by Y Combinator startups including Anara from the S24 batch, Cognosys backed by Google Ventures with 2 million dollars in funding, Infisical from W23 with 2.8 million dollars, Langfuse with 4 million dollars, and Million.dev from W24. Endorsements include Guillermo Rauch, CEO of Vercel, Steven Tey, creator of Dub.co, McKay Wrigley, founder of Takeoff AI, and Aiden Bai, creator of Million.js. Community support is available through a Discord server with over 200 members.
