Nx Build System

Nx is a smart build framework for monorepos created by Victor Savkin and Jeff Cross, former Angular team members at Google, through Narwhal Technologies in 2017, providing code generation, dependency graph analysis, affected command execution, and task orchestration for JavaScript and TypeScript monorepos, supporting React, Angular, Vue, Node.js, Next.js, and NestJS. Adopted by Microsoft, Google, Cisco, and VMWare. The code generation provides interactive generators for creating applications, libraries, and components following team conventions, fully customizable through custom schematics enforcing architectural patterns. The dependency graph analysis maps all dependencies between projects, providing interactive visualization, circular dependency detection, and affected project identification. The affected commands leverage Git history to determine which projects are impacted by uncommitted changes, running only necessary tasks and reducing CI times from minutes to seconds. The task runner supports caching with local and remote caching through Nx Cloud. The distributed task execution spreads tasks across multiple agents. The plugin ecosystem provides framework-specific support. Designed for monorepo teams and engineering organizations.
