Quay Container Registry

Quay is an enterprise-grade container and application registry developed by Red Hat that enables organizations to build, analyze, distribute, and securely manage container images and OCI artifacts. The platform provides automated image builds triggered by Git repository changes through webhooks from GitHub, Bitbucket, and GitLab, with support for custom Dockerfiles and build contexts. Security scanning is integrated natively, automatically checking container images against vulnerability databases including Clair and notifying teams when new CVEs are discovered in stored images. Quay supports fine-grained role-based access control (RBAC) with teams, organizations, and robot accounts for managing image access permissions across large organizations. The registry provides comprehensive vulnerability reporting, image manifest inspection, label management, and repository mirroring capabilities for synchronizing images between registries. Quay is available both as a managed SaaS service hosted by Red Hat and as a self-hosted enterprise product that runs on Kubernetes or standalone. As part of the Red Hat OpenShift ecosystem, Quay integrates seamlessly with OpenShift builds, deployments, and image streams. The platform supports OCI image specifications, Helm charts, and arbitrary OCI artifacts, making it a versatile registry solution for cloud native application delivery pipelines.
